On February 27, 2009 the Athletic Commission
legalized MMA in Pennsylvania and approved all final regulations.
Iron Will Fighting Championship was formed by Darcy Regala, David
Regala, and Josh Breto. David and Darcy Regala have been teaching
Martial Arts at their academy for over 28 years and have taught
thousands of students of all ages. They have provided specialized
Martial Arts training to private and public sector organizations,
universities, law enforcement and the military. Josh Breto has trained
with the Regalas for over 10 years and used to compete in MMA fights.
Along with the Regalas, Josh is also an instructor at the Cambria
Martial Arts Academy in South Fork, PA.
Mixed Martial Arts is the combination of
combat disciplines of Jujitsu, Judo, Wrestling, Muay Thai Kickboxing,
Boxing and Karate. MMA requires the acquisition of skills and the
same type of physical fitness associated with wrestling, Jujitsu,
Boxing and Muay Thai. People who compete in MMA are amongst the
fittest and strongest athletes you are likely to find anywhere.
The sport essentially entered American athletic culture in 1993
with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. UFC president
Dana White calls MMA “the sport for the new generation”
and Mixed Martial Arts Cage fighting is quickly becoming a mainstream
international sport. Pay per view profits has become phenomenal
with MMA outdrawing NBA basketball and major league baseball games.
